I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who is surprised that we are not 100% back to Mass yet. The Covid epidemic seems to be lingering longer than our expectations and our patience. This plus the civil unrest that is plaguing most major cities (I am not speaking of peaceful protests) just adds to the climate of uncertainty and people’s heightened anxiety. “Normal” seems farther and farther out into the future.
Two things want to remind us all about, first God is always in charge. We might see unrest, violence and chaos (these are favorite tools of the devil), but God is always in charge. His love, grace, power and wisdom are far greater than any problems that may arise. When we trust in God, we are not doing nothing. We are actively bringing about the Kingdom of Heaven. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and Jesus who is the Good Shepherd will lead us to cool streams and fresh pastures.
Secondly, we were made for these times. God who knows everything, knew what he was doing when he had us come into the world for this time. God who is omniscient, knew that we were the ones who, with his grace, could weather this storm. God chose YOU to be alive at this time, so trust in him and ask for the gifts and grace you need to live faithfully in his will. God bless you.
