We have started a new year and many of us are glad to see 2020 behind us. Still, I am grateful to God for many blessings this past year. The loving and generous support of so many of our parishioners, projects begun and completed, the creativity of many people who overcame the obstacles that the pandemic put in our way. So thank you all who pitched in and were so good.
2021 may or may not be any better, we shall see. I do know that if it is more of the same, we should not be discouraged or lose hope. If we truly put our hope in God, we will be fine. Many people put themselves in the midst of great difficulties because they try to manage their own affairs instead of trusting in God.
God is calling each and every one of us to a greater trust in him. In good circumstances or bad, in fair weather or foul, in light and clarity or darkness and confusion, we will be faithful to God and so overcome all obstacles. Even death is nothing to us who have been promised salvation and heaven. So trust in God, be faithful. Love God and your neighbor. God bless.
